Ukrainian Cultural Trust Choir

The Ukrainian Cultural Trust Choir of Western Pennsylvania was founded by Dorothy Waslo over 15 years ago. Choir members come from all over the area, without regard to religion or age, and sometimes include non-Ukrainians.
Directed by Dorothy Waslo, the Ukrainian Cultural Trust Choir has given concerts throughout the Pittsburgh Ukrainian community including annual Christmas concerts of Ukrainian kolyady and shchedrivky. Other themes have been Lenten music, patriotic songs, spring songs (hayivky), compositions using Shevchenko’s poetry, and Ukrainian classical music.
For the many singers today who can not read Ukrainian, the Choir provides transliterated words, so that all those who love to sing can participate in our Ukrainian musical heritage.
Practices are held on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 PM (except in the summer) at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Hall on Mansfield Blvd. in Carnegie and new voices are always welcome. For more information, please contact Director Dorothy Waslo at 412-487-0208.
