Svitlana Tomson - President
Svitlana Tomson, President - provides general leadership and supervision over the affairs of the Board and all committees, implementing its purposes.
Svitlana was born in Ukraine and came to the USA in 1989. Svitlana is a CPA and currently is a Director of Accounting for HVL LLC in Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to her current position she was the Accounting Manager for HVL, Inc. and Sr. Corporate Accountant for Werner Holding Co. in Greenville, PA. Before her move into corporate finance, she was an Auditor for Carbis Walker LLP - regional CPA and consulting firm.
Svitlana’s educational background includes a Masters of Science in Accountancy (MSA) degree from Duquesne University, a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration degree from the Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelors of Arts from the Kyiv State University of Culture in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Svitlana is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society in Business Administration. She is also the Choir Director at St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church where she is a member. In addition, Svitlana is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Self-Reliance of Western Pennsylvania Federal Credit Union, and a member of the Ukrainian Technological Society and the New Ukrainian Wave – Pittsburgh Chapter.
Svitlana enjoys skiing, traveling and gardening. She, her husband V. Rev. Timothy Tomson and their two daughters live in Mt. Lebanon.
