Taris Vrcek
Taris Vrcek, Member of the Board of Directors
Taris is a third generation resident of McKees Rocks and currently is the Executive Director of the McKees Rock Community Development Corporation (MRCDC).
After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1991, Taris worked in the information technology field as a software programmer and operated his own custom software design and development firm.
In 1998, Taris moved back to McKees Rocks from Manhattan and was concerned about the lack of development in the area. He gathered a group of stakeholders with a goal of fostering the economic revitalization of the area.
Vrcek’s vision of restoring endangered commercial real estate to stimulate the economic revitalization of his homeland led to the creation of MRCDC in 2003.
Taris is an active member of St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church where he participates in a variety of Ukrainian activities.
